"You're All Wrong-EP" by HolliePollock (Classic Rock Artist from Salem, Oregon(OR))

"You're All Wrong-EP" by HolliePollock has a cool alternative sound to it while also having the Classic Rock feel of Zepplin to it as well. The vocals are just as gritty as the instrumentation and lyrics which gives this album an abundance of intensity. The title track, "You're All Wrong" with its dynamic drums and talented bass emulates both lyrically and musically an expression of loneliness that's identifiable with everyone. "13th Sun" is another talent-dense track on the EP with strong and solid guitar work that embellishes the lyrical vocal. The music is on the forefront while the vocals linger behind in an almost spooky, but interesting way. This CD contains 5 tracks of intense Classic Rock music spanning this bands performance of outstanding musical capability. If any kind of Rock music is your preference, then this EP is definitely well worth hearing.

"Can't Hardly Wait" by Ken L (Rap Artist from California(CA))

Ken L's latest EP is "Can't Hardly Wait." It's a solid collection of hard-hitting rap songs culled from a variety of urban music influences. The title track "Can't Hardly Wait" is a more fun-loving hip hop song with Ken L rapping about his own life. "Go Girl!!!" has more of a serious beat to it, utilizing a punchy drum line and brass section highlights - and reminiscent of a New York style rap song. "Whut U Wanna Do???" features the rapper rhyming over a more club-friendly, energetic beat. Ken L's "Can't Hardly Wait" EP is a showcase for his evocative lyrics against a backdrop of varied and spirited hip hop rhythms. If you appreciate bold and brisk styled rhyming and beats, then "Can't Hardly Wait" is an EP you should check out. WARNING-CONTAINS EXPLICIT LANGUAGE

"I am no loger of this world" by Don Krim (Classical Artist from The United States)

Don Krim's classical operatic album is titled "I am no longer of this world." This is the countertenor's debut album, featuring Suzanne Bradbury on the piano, in which he sings Gustav Mahler's "Ruckert Lieder" and Peter Lieberson's "Rilke Songs." Krim's voice is breathtaking and while it may remind one of a mature choir-boy or a mezzo-soprano, it actually is neither and superior at the same time. "Atmen, du unsichtbares, Gedicht!" is a song in which we can hear how his voice can lie in such a high register, yet also resonate deeply, in this song that embodies both dark and bright themes simultaneously. In "Ich bin der Welt abhanden gekommen" one can really hear the beauty within Suzanna Bradbury's finesse upon the piano and it interplays with Don's soaring voice. This is an album that any fan of classical vocal composition would enjoy. If you already enjoy the likes of Lorraine Hunt Lieberson then "I am no longer of this world" is an album you will want to hear immediately.

"As It Should Be" by A Beautiful Curse (Electronic Artist from Texas(TX))

A Beautiful Curse's latest album is "As It Should Be." This album, for the most part, contains lower tempo Electronic music; which at times is quite psychedelic and is aimed at almost being "positive dream music" for the listener. The opener, "On the Other Side," starts off with beautiful female vocals over an almost gritty and menacing background rumble before a trip-hop like beat comes in to take over the song. "A Mind of Its Own" is a more fantasy-like song in which a steady beat is held down with ambient sounds and vocals fading in and out from all directions. The song, "This Is My House," is an all out Electronica track with a dancing and pulsating beat that will make you want to stand up and groove. This album is an amalgam of contemporary psychedelic styles which all come from a place of positive inspiration. If you appreciate slightly hallucinatory electronic sounds, or like any type of dream-like music, then you might agree this album is exactly "As It Should Be."

"When She's Around" by The Dave Rawlinson Band (Country Artist from Seattle, Washington(WA))

The Dave Rawlinson Band put together a relaxed, classic Country album with "When She's Around." Rawlinson's vocals are spot on and definitely hit that country twang without sounding trite. Like Johnny Cash before him, there are fast-paced Country duets with Alexandra Rawlinson. The song, "Big John," sounds like music from an old western soundtrack, accented with haunting whistles. "I Try to Think About Elvis" is an especially powerful track, with electric guitar and both vocalists putting in a strong performance with exceptional harmonies. "When She's Around" is a solid Country album that can easily hold it's own against any mainstream Country performers today.

"Red Light, Green Light, Go" by Brett Perkins (Pop Artist from Denmark)

"Red Light, Green Light, Go" by Brett Perkins is an inspirational, easy listening Pop album. Each track delivers real instrumental, non-synthesized music with accurately harmonizing vocals. Greatly inspired by the work of The Beatles, "Red Light, Green Light, Go" does an exceptional job of combining the melodies of 60's pop with modern Americana guitars. The track "Figure It Out" has a perky, upbeat tempo and the chorus is probably the catchiest one of the entire album. The instrumentation on the track "I Won't Give Up On Love" matches the artist voice perfectly. Staying in the tenor range with a female vocalist accompanying him, this song is intricate in lyrics and musicianship. The Beatles have inspired many a great artist since the launch of their career and "Red Light, Green Light, Go" by Brett Perkins is a shining example of that.

"Blaze Away" by Brokenworks (Rock Artist from Oregon(OR))

The most recent album from Brokenworks goes by the name of "Blaze Away." It is an album recorded, to be very vague, in a "Rock" style mentality but that doesn't say much as the songs of the album fall everywhere on the Rock genre spectrum. What unites the music of the album is that is it created as a tuneful affirmation of God's love. "Count It All Joy" is a boisterous and fun Rock song that celebrates the feelings of joy one can feel within their life. "Long Live the King" is a slow moving Rock ballad, with a focus on the piano that is in reverence to the creator of us all. "Sanctuary" is a song that decides to simplify things and focus on the harmony between male and female vocals, with a beautifully played acoustic guitar in the background. This album is perfect for those who enjoy a band who attempts to show many sides of Rock music within one album, as well as those who appreciate Contemporary music that is in celebration of the divine.

"Obama my President Vision of Change" by Kiss Royale (Rap Artist from the United Kingdom)

"Obama my President Vision of Change" is more than just an homage to our first African-American president, but a catchy album as well. Some tracks feel like classic hip-hop, some are straight out of the club, but all contain well-crafted lyrics. Songs like "Showdown" will get you up and moving. Others like "J-doub Show" focus on what needs to be said. Kiss Royale's CD shouldn't collect dust with your Obama collector plates and memorabilia. "Obama My President Vision of Change" belongs in your CD player.

"Firefly" by Indus (World Artist from the United Kingdom)

"Firefly," the debut CD by Indus, is a riveting album fully inspired by the classical, carnatic music of India, with an Arabic influence. This album utilizes instruments like tabla, sitar & dholak, providing a unique and new tapestry of sound for the listener not familiar with Eastern music forms. The CD also relies on classical stringed instruments of the West which play smoothly in the background. The track "Kafi Lounge" takes the listener on a lively, instrumental escape into the midst of an Indian hookah lounge with its relaxing melodies and complicated rhythms. "Isfahan" makes use of the vocal stylings of classical Indian music that are more like sounds rather than words; aural cues that are meant to keep count for the dancer as well as signal the dancer to do certain movements. All around, the technique that went into this CD is impeccable. If you're a world music listener, "Firefly" by Indus is an album you can't help but appreciate.

"World Domination" by Fatal Smile (Hard Rock Artist from Sweden)

Fatal Smile's latest album goes by the title of "World Domination." It is a continuation of this Swedish hard rocker's tradition of in-your-face music; and is mixed by Michael Wagener, who has worked with the likes of Metallica, Ozzy Osbourne, and Mötley Crüe. In "No Tomorrow" Fatal Smile starts off slowly, building a gritty-momentum, before detonating into guitar-led mayhem. "S.o.b." is a song in which the tempo always stays high, with chunking guitars and chorus lyrics that are simply aimed at getting one pumped up. For "Eve of War" they supply more of a toe-tapping beat, still replete with the screeching guitars, but with more of a focus on methodically grooving alongside the intensity. "World Domination" is an album made fully in the Metal/Hard Rock mentality. If you are a fan of music like that of Metallica or Whitesnake, then this album, "World Domination" by Fatal Smile might be right up your alley.

"A Journey Through Middle-Earth" by Ad Dios (Ambient Artist from Sweden)

Inspired by J.R.R. Tolkien's Lord of the Rings series, "A Journey Through Middle-Earth," the new CD by Ad Dios, is a terrific diversion into musical fantasy. Combining basic acoustic instruments with trippy electronic notes, this album takes the listener's mind out of the box at an easy tempo. Named after the setting of the Lord of the Rings saga, the opening track, "Middle-Earth," sets the stage with looming melodies, coupled with bongos and chimes progressing from soft to powerful. Toward the end, the track "Rohan" invests the listener with the feelings of LOTR's main human character (Rohan) with electronic, regal-sounding trumpets and a steady bass line. If you're one that loves easy listening, then this is most definitely a CD for you. Just turn it on and let Ad Dios do the rest.

"uncut & lo-fi" by Reform (Jazz Artist from Sweden)

"uncut & lo-fi" is the 5th and latest release from the Swedish group of 9 musicians known as Reform. They have been described as "Swedish psychedelic jazz-rock for the open minded." But what this album really sounds like is excited instrumental psychedelic garage-rock that takes cues from jazz in its improvisation and sense of order. The opener, "Lion Bar," is a wild track with boisterous and echo-laced drums, plus a plethora of instruments and sounds that makes for an energetic clamor skillfully placed somewhere between music and noise. In "Uncle Urri 2" they slow things down with a more reserved blues beat overlaid with soulful, yet highly spacey, harmonica and guitar playing. For "Spooky" they give us a song that sounds like a blend of jazz and jam-band styled rock, recorded loudly in their unique "lo-fi" manner. If you are a fan of experimental instrumental music, or intrigued by garage-rock that dares to employ the methods of jazz jams, then Reform's CD, "uncut & lo-fi," is an album you would certainly be interested in hearing.

"Hitmaker" by Glaze GetEm (Rap Artist from Michigan(MI))

Glaze GetEm's new album goes by the name of "HitMaker." This album is recorded in the contemporary and mainstream Rap/Hip-Hop style, with auto-tuned vocals and catchy hooks designed to make everyone in the club hit the dance floor. The track "Bring Her to Da Back" is an energetic and high-paced Rap song that moves between minimalist beats and a dance-friendly and appealing chorus. "Froot Loops" is a grittier song and may be the most head-nodding tune of the album, as it employs quickly cut-up lyrics and dancing tremble tones throughout the song. Things are slowed down for "Told You So," a more ballad like song in which Glaze GetEm lets their effects-heavy vocals be the center of the song. This album will appeal to those who enjoy club-friendly, high tempo Rap similar to the likes of Lil Wayne or T-Pain. If that's the type of music that is up your alley then pick up Glaze GetEm's "HitMaker" and get grooving today.

"Truckers Finest-Bikers Best" by J.R. Leonard (Country Artist from England)

"Truckers Finest-Bikers Best" is the latest country/western CD from J.R. Leonard. It's an album recorded with the mindset of the free-living American west. You will find good ole' fashioned country songs, western ballads and some more edgy rock tunes as well. In "Darlene From San Antone" J.R. sings a love story in a catchy, honky-tonk, gotta-dance fashion. Then he changes the pace with tracks like "Message From Elvis," a slow moving and bluesy country song. He shows us his edgier side with "Lay Down and Rock Me," a gritty rock song played almost in ZZ Top style. J.R. Leonard's "Truckers Finest-Bikers Best" CD should have something for everyone; whether you are a fan of Jerry Jeff Walker and Johnny Cash, or prefer a more modern and mainstream approach to country music.

"SCR Exclusive" by J-Mill (Hip-Hop Artist from Maryland(MD))

Exceptionally creative and talented Hip-Hop/Rap artist J-Mill, runs full throttle with his latest disc, "SCR Exclusive." J-Mill and Streetz Certified Records spins an amazing, well produced album as this disc delivers clean and crisp clarity as the sound tracks never overpower the free flowing vocals providing an extremely well balanced production. Catch the innovating energy that rises up on the song "City Boy" as J-Mill cleverly utilizes a looped background hook from Journey's hit song, "Don't Stop Believin'" which swirls around the sly lyrics that grooves to the beat. The vocal wordplay is tight and this catchy song is definitely tailored for the club scene. Another hit song, "SCR Exclusive" kicks in with strong and powerful synth strings/horns and thumping drum beats as J-Mill proves his ability as a brilliant easy flowing rhymer. "In My Soul" by Antonia (Classical Artist from Austria)

"In My Soul" is the latest release from the gifted pianist, Antonia. This album is a beautifully sounding collection of Antonia's personal classical compositions. It features just her on the piano, and truly is a recording of the highest quality. In "Once in a Wintertime" she plays hypnotically as her left hand plays the lower register with somber tonality while the right hand caresses the keys with a melody that is smooth and emotive creating a melodic and interesting composition. On the song, "After All Spring" she gives us a pleasantly prancing and hopeful piano piece. Another song, "Joy" Antonia employs the entire piano well, and usually at once, in a complex and moving song. Whether you are a fan of Chopin or Mozart's piano compositions, or maybe an audiophile who enjoys the stunning and beautiful capabilities of a skilled pianist, then "In My Soul" by Antonia is an album for you.

"One-Trick Pony" by Texas Heat (Country Artist from Germany)

"One-Trick Pony" is the latest Honky-Tonk Country album released by Germany's own Texas Heat. It is an album filled with clean sounding, at times antiquated, Country songs that celebrate the life style and issues of the western man. "All Alone And Blue" is a slow moving western song that features wonderful steel guitar playing and a chorus featuring a wonderful harmony of Country-crooning. In "Drivin' Down The Road" we find a toe-tapping, Honky-Tonk tune, about the interesting life of being a trucker. Then for "Old Black Record" the band gets energetic as they deliver a rousing song that might make you want to get up and square dance. Overall, it's an album that makes good use of the old-fashioned Country-style guitar and drum playing, put together with just enough of a modern edge. If you are a fan of Johnny Cash or even the Drive-by Truckers then "One-Trick Pony" is an album that your ears need to meet.

"Well I Never..." by JustDave (Pop/Rock Artist from England)

That JustDave rocks with authority is clear, but their excellent new CD, "Well I Never…", also showcases the band's capacity for delivering solid pop-rock tunes that are as immediate as they are enduring. With meaningful lyrics, tightly layered harmonies and biting, guitar-driven arrangements, "Well I Never…" finds JustDave mixing some distinctly '80's-era pop sounds ("Professional Victim" & "The Inconvenient Truth") with Classic Rock sensibilities ("Hard To Breathe" and "I Can't Be Wrong All the Time") in a seamless, 12-song collection that's strong from start to finish. Other highlights include the Blue Oyster Cult-like "Fractured" and the echo-laden power ballad, "When It All Comes Down," but throughout the album JustDave's musical instincts prove spot-on. Well-conceived and equally well-played, JustDave's latest CD, "Well I Never…," finds the English band hitting on all cylinders in delivering an album that rocks with timeless and memorable songs.

"Beatlesque Too" by Alan Bernhoft (60"s Rock Artist from Los Angeles, California(CA))

Alan Bernhoft more than accomplished his intended goal with his recent album, "Beatlesque Too." The British Invasion sound from the early sixties made popular by The Beatles is alive and well on this album. Bernhoft captures the twangy guitars, the easy flowing harmonies, and simple drum beats with ease. The bouncy song, "All of the Time" features a solid harmonica solo while vocals and harmonies are exceptional. The last track "Come On Baby" is an obvious call to "Twist and Shout," the popular Beatles cover. The average track is not long in length but these songs don't lose the nostalgic throwback of this era. This album doesn't take liberties, risks, or get too adventurous as it simply produces quality song after quality song that could have come straight out of 1964. Fans of The Beatles don't miss an opportunity to hear the excellent songs of "Beatlesque Too."

"King in a Temple" by Amie Penwell (Rock Artist from California(CA))

"King in a Temple" is the latest release from the skilled pianist and vocalist, Amie Penwell. Amie's voice is beautiful and well trained, with a soulful, reflective sound that communicates deep emotions on this CD. The simple and crystal clear production of this CD, very nicely captures the power of Amie's voice. She is backed by a plethora of different instruments and musicians on this album, which allows Amie to demonstrate her vocal versatility. On "Momentary Cure" we really hear Amie's ability to create a positive interaction between her voice and piano playing. It is a powerful slower piano ballad that also has a driving sub current. On "So Many Ways" we are introduced to Amie's more bluegrass side as she opts to interact with a fiddle instead of her piano and the result is a quite enjoyable tune. Give "King in aTemple" a listen, if you are a fan of strong, smooth and melodic vocals over mellow yet emotional music.

"Recipes for Modern Life" by Dizrhythmia (Folk Artist from New Zealand)

"Recipes for Modern Life" by New Zealand band Dizrhythmia is a psychedelic funk CD with a feel of Folk and a little bit of Country. All of the tracks utilize acoustic guitars put with trance-like lead vocals reminiscent of Woodstock singers of the classic sixties. On the track "Song for Nikki," harmony is employed with a violin which brings a really classy and truly sentimental element to the CD which is furthered by the articulate lyrics. The track of which the title was based, "A Recipe for Modern Life," is a "feel good" track that incorporates a fluid-sounding trumpet with the steady high hat and snare drum tempo that takes the listener for a walk on an easier side of life. "Burlington Street" is a groovy track that will get the listener moving to the catchy lyrics and sharp rhythm. All around, this album is excellent for those who enjoy easy listening music with good instrumentation and meaningful lyrics.

Pixilated Theory, which is comprised of two outstanding musicians, Jonathan Hall and Michael Hall, powers this fourteen track album with sometimes strange and mystifying tonality. Even as you browse through the song titles, each one produces images of space age mystery. Setting the tone for the album, "SETI Communication" stirs eerie visions as a synthesized, child- like voice penetrates deftly over the chilling sound effects. The cryptic poetry on "White Walls" easily spins around the creepy synth sounds. Displaying a softer pop style, "Angel of this World" is sweet and tender with thoughtful vocals and lyrics. "Bondi Blue (Music from the Underwater Bondi Experience" by John Simmons (Electronic Artist from Australia)

The terms lush, orchestral, mysterious, soothing & atmospheric all come to mind when referring to John Simmons' new CD, "Bondi Blue (Music from the Underwater Bondi Experience)," a thematic, New Age-like album built on overlaid synthesizers and electronica-framed soundscapes. All 11 instrumental tracks of "Bondi Blue" are titled to reflect the deep sea experience (the music was composed specifically for the Underwater Bondi Experience in Australia), and Simmons is more than up to the task of fitting music to the images his song titles evoke. CD-opener, "Into the Surf," with its lush, melodic sweep, suggests the ambience of a windswept ocean at dawn; "Deep Rocky Reef," more jagged & imposing, hints at the dangers that lurk in unfathomable depths; "Blueness" explores limitless shallows & its intrinsic natural beauty; and "Underwater," with its orchestral strains of epic proportion, calls forth the sea's mystery and its inscrutable wonder. For fans of instrumental, chill out and New Age music, John Simmons' CD, "Bondi Blue (Music from the Underwater Bondi Experience)" is as timeless as the sea it celebrates.

"Charlie Comes First" by Artificial Happiness (Adult Alternative Artist from England)

Displaying a keen penchant for grand rock 'n' roll dramatics reminiscent of Jim Steinman's seminal productions (Meat Loaf, Bonnie Tyler), Artificial Happiness stakes its claims to rock glory on their 1st full-length CD, "Charlie Comes First." With a studied feel for rock's capacity as a robust storytelling vehicle, the UK band mixes guitar-laden rock with electronica flourishes & over-the-top, hook-filled choruses in a 10-song collection that's as memorable as it is immediate. "Baby to Have You I Have to Leave You" opens the CD with a Peter Gabriel-like vibe that bursts open in a chorus that's danceable & sing-along catchy; "Unknown is Her Name" is a terrific slice of classic 3-chord guitar rock that recalls Prince at his best; & "Patient Patient Love" employs Ray Davies-like theatrics to provocative & winning effect. Elsewhere, the propulsive dance track, "Pray for Me in Jesus' Name," shows the band's dance grooves are as potent as their rock thunder, & "Maria Let Me In" proves they are equally adept with a moving power ballad. With each song its own fertile & well-crafted mini-drama, Artificial Happiness' terrific CD, "Charlie Comes First," will delight on many levels, not least as a straight-up rock manifesto.

"Prophecy Say" by Phil Joseph & New Wave (Reggae Artist from England)

Phil Joseph & New Wave, release four versions of the titled song "Prophecy Say," an excellent Reggae based CD. With over twenty five years in the music industry, Phil Joseph is no stranger to the music scene as he is a well rounded singer, songwriter, and performer. The first three versions feature Joseph's vocals which are polished and crisp while his melodic lyrics reveal emotive issues. The lead in on the drums adds a building momentum while the harmonies add a touch a flavor to this catchy tune. The musicality is solid as the syncopated drum beats swirl around the sharp guitar riffs and bright organ chords. As the last version is an instrumental only, this would make a fine background score for anything needing a nice bouncy beat. Reggae fans will want to hear the smooth vibes of "Prophecy Say," as it is a finely crafted, spirited song.

"Lost in Time" by John Walter (Jazz/Piano Artist from England)

Jazz pianist John Walter's debut CD, "Lost in Time," was a long time in the making, but more than worth the wait. An accomplished player of skill & sensitivity, the London-schooled, Devon-based Walter has been performing & teaching in England since the 80s, building up a resume that has included stints with acclaimed UK soloists like Andy Sheppard & Paul Dunmall. Displaying an affinity for the kind of lyricism & lush chords of a Keith Jarrett or Bill Evans, "Lost in Time" is a 12-song collection of original, piano-only jazz compositions filled with quiet intensity. "There Will Be Peace" & "Song to An Empty Room," with their solemn & moving melodies, are highlights of Walter's expansiveness, each clocking in at over 6 minutes, as the composer explores every nuance of his themes. The more up-tempo "Wosa" hints at pop sensibilities before drawing back upon its jazz roots, while title-track, "Lost in Time," works the upper registers in an other-worldly performance of real beauty. As overdue introductions go, John Walter's "Lost in Time" CD is a much-appreciated look at an artist stepping out of the shadows as an accompanist to spotlight his own considerable talents as a composer & jazz pianist.

"As the White Crane Flies" by 12000 Miles (Electronic Artist from The United Kingdom)

"As the White Crane Flies" by 12000 Miles (UK/NZ electronica artist collaboration) Intriguing the listener with experimental Electronica, 12000 Miles releases their debut album, titled "As the White Crane Flies." The musical pair began this collaboration, as their group name suggests, miles apart sharing their works of MIDI files through the internet. The end result is an outstanding and brilliant collection of free forming works utilizing the highly talented forte of Lain Dixon Iain as flute player. Opening up the disc is "Alphabet Hunt (from A)," which delivers a driving industrial tonality, while the smooth and interesting flute surprises the listener with instrumental interplay. Strong and powerful synth hits and generous percussive beats bring together the absorbing energy "Endangered Species" offers up. "V Formation" shows a slightly softer side of the album, with the flute being soothing and melodic with a light and airy quality. If you like multi-layered experimental music with first-rate production that is flavored with the dynamics of the flute, then 12000 Miles's "As the White Crane Flies" will be one album you will thoroughly enjoy.

"Sparks in the Sky" by Steve Pedvin (Rock Artist from Illinois(IL))

Singer/songwriter Steve Pedvin's engaging style of guitar driven pop/rock is on full display on his excellent CD, "Sparks in the Sky." Often recalling the fertile talents of Dire Straits' Mark Knopfler and particularly his classic "Brothers in Arms" LP, "Sparks in the Sky" 13 tuneful tracks run the gamut of potent rockers such as "Alive," to solemn ballads like "When Lightning Strikes," to feet-tapping swing on "Stuck in a Hole," all the while effected with the know-how and sly humor, of a performer of impeccable artistry. As a guitarist, Pedvin's tone and phrasing are spot on, whether invoking the spirit of Jimi Hendrix on "Nowhere to Go" or providing an acoustic picking-style backing on the solid, folk-like number, "Thirty Five." As a vocalist, he displays a range of tone and inflection that serve the song first and foremost and, as a writer, Pedvin's songs are as original as they are musically satisfying, reminding us all over again why rock 'n'roll remains a vibrant and important art form, even as it nears the end of its sixth decade. Steve Pedvin's aptly-titled "Sparks in the Sky" CD is a vision of musical sparks that illuminates the sky.

"Friction" by Pitchblack-ltd (Pop/Reggae Artist from Sweden)

Sweden's Pitchblack-ltd serves up their own vibrant take on dance-oriented rock on their terrific album, "Friction". Unlike some recently successful bands of this genre, the success of Pitchblack-ltd's new release is due more to an age-old reliance on brilliant song craft rather than mere adherence to the revival of the once unholy alliance between Rock and Disco. Indeed, each of the eleven songs on "Friction" bristles with its own immediacy, tunefully melding R&B and Rock influences with equal command. The first track, "Trouble Skank," establishes their unique sound with an insistent groove and sing-along melody. Elsewhere, "Everybodys Monkey" and "No Riot!?" employ the same measures of dance-floor urgency plus garage band vocal inflections, while the more relaxed "The Late Mans Blues," and the jazzy atmosphere of "Rumours," are testament to the band's adeptness with a broader – yet entirely cohesive, musical vision. Pitchblack-ltd's second CD "Friction" is an outstanding collection of razor-sharp songs executed with precision and muscle, regardless of style or influences.

"Nightlife; A Pop-Opera in Three Acts" by Navarro and Stamps (Pop Artist from Texas(TX))

Navarro and Stamps' intriguing album, "Nightlife: A Pop-Opera in Three Acts," with its random and all-too-real sound bites of desultory social intercourse interwoven between and within the framework of its 23 tracks, finds the musicians delving into the dullness of everyday life with sounds & structures that belie the banality of the "night of serious drinking" this album entails. Navarro & Stamps' vocal & instrumental pieces rely on electronic keyboards and sound effects to explore and delineate the moods and states of mind evoked in the erstwhile narrative. Musically, the soundscape ranges from the cartoon-like "Everything is Now," to the no-frills electro-pop "Life is Taking for F--king Ever," to the enigmatically dissonant "Reprise & Postlude," recalling artists as varied and diverse as They Might be Giants and Tom Waits. Taken as a whole, Navarro & Stamps' "Nightlife: A Pop-Opera In Three Acts" is both a provocative and satisfying piece of work that demands, and, more importantly, rewards multiple listens.

"Lele Lele" by Lele Lele (World Artist from Sweden)

The self-titled collection by Lele Lele is an upbeat, energetic, and diverse collection of world tunes. Utilizing the heavenly sounds of the acoustic guitar and many native instruments, Lele Lele devises fluid, free-spirited tunes that are sure to leave lasting impressions. "En Magisk Hatt" starts things off right, wasting no time in acquainting listeners to the wide array of traditional instruments Lele Lele strategically orchestrates, as well as the vibrant and unique vocal performances. Taking on Middle-Eastern flair, "Zima" carries on the danceable mood of the CD while displaying some very memorable musical hooks. Furthermore, "Cogs & Gears" slows down the pace a bit while revealing a more emotional appeal to listeners. Superb production tops this assembly off, making it a prime choice for fans of world compositions.

"Love Revue" by Love Revue (Pop Artist from United Kingdom)

Smart and catchy pop/rock with decidedly Power Pop leanings is the order of the day on the very fine new self-titled CD from Love Revue. Boasting a post-Beatles-inspired sense of melody and pop precision, Love Revue's irresistible hooks have an altogether classic feel despite the contemporary production values that make this 11-song collection a natural for multiple radio formats. CD opener, "Cooking for One," a low-key gem built on a piano and acoustic guitar backing, sets the bar pretty high for the rest of the disc as it recalls the charms of Badfinger at that classic band's best. "Looking for the One" and "Soothe My Soul" more than ably demonstrate Love Revue's rocking side, while "Strip Me" and "Release" is love ballads of the first order. With the triumphant song "Get Along," Love Revue really proves its mettle with a spirited ELO-influenced creation tailor-made for summer radio and summer fun. Love Revue's CD impresses as an album that succeeds on its own merits: a collection of pure pop songs that will sound as good on the car radio as they will at home.
