"Six Feet Down" by Myrah (Hard Rock Artist from Sweden)

The Swedish hardcore Metal/Punk group Myrah and their recent album, "Six Feet Down," is a collection of hard hitting songs with an overall hefty and dense sound that also contains subtle expressive dynamics. "The Cold" is a fierce number with an intense double-bass drum holding the beat as escalating guitars wail, yet the lyrics remain comprehensible and somewhat reserved. The title track, "Six Feet Down," is an impressive number that begins with a strong and solid vocalist and accompanying piano before climaxing into a thumping rock song with string highlights and bellowing guitars. "Oceans of Time" is a number that contemplates some of life's darker issues in a song that is both unhurried yet aggressive while the instruments give way to the mysterious tonality. This is an album in which true hardcore Metal/Punk music is being played, yet with more introspective and perceptible messages and lyrics. Fans of Iron Maiden and older Metallica would do themselves a favor by listening to Myrah's "Six Feet Down."

"Stone Biscuit" by Jubal Kane (Blues Artist from North Carolina(NC))

The latest release from Jubal Kane is "Stone Biscuit" and is a double album with the first disc being a collection of raw live recordings of the band playing their brand of thick and hearty Blues/Rock, and the second disc contains cover songs as well as a couple of bonus recordings. "Heavy Load" is a high tempo blues song with a great shuffling sound to it, in which we hear how the harmonica can really rock out. "Long Road" is a slower paced number with a hefty Blues groove to it. In the song "Tight" we might have the best use of the Blues harmonica as a leading instrument, as it interplays with the vocalist with a gritty and wide sound. This is an album filled with a plethora of passionate live Blues/Rock songs, with a heavy emphasis on the soulful harmonica. If you are a fan of Blues Traveler then you would really enjoy the compositions on "Stone Biscuit" by Jubal Kane.

"Invazion" by Fourth Dimension (Reggae Artist from Florida(FL))

Fourth Dimension's latest album, "Invazion" is a compilation of vibrant and upbeat Reggae music that has a very modern and refreshing sound. "Dis Ya Music" is an upbeat number with an undulating rhythm, brass highlights, great harmonies, and lyrics that celebrates music itself. "When The Pressure Drop" is a song with more of a contemplative beat over which the vocals charms the listener with uplifting lyrics. "Frequency" is more of a funky Caribbean song with an active beat that entices one to get up and dance along. Overall, this is a highly animated and spirited Reggae album that takes on many social issues while at the same time brings forth a positive celebration of life.
