"On the sunny side" by Vokalt Selskap (Jazz Artist from Norway)

Vokalt Selskap releases the debut album, "On the sunny side" and reveals memorable renditions of superb Jazz songs. This album is based upon the vocal talents of a tight knit Jazz quartet who sing with strong and emotive style and grace. Their voices blend with a brilliant dynamic balance as each song is articulate and expressive. Their performances of timeless standards such as, "Smile," "Autumn Leaves," and "Mack the knife" are hypnotic as their harmonies flow together with sweet and tender expressions. Most songs are a cappella but there are a couple of tunes such as "Accentuate the positive" and "On the sunny side of the street" that are splashed with a charming piano accompaniment. If you're a fan of the group Manhattan Transfer then you will be hooked on the stunning Jazz vocal talents on "On the sunny side."

"Vision Of Dreams" by UnS (Electronic Artist from Pennsylvania)

"Vision Of Dreams" is the newest album brought to us by UnS. It is an album of calm Electronic music that fuses Middle Eastern and Western sounds to create a relaxing collection of songs. For "Desert Rain" we hear a briskly calm beat as well as Middle Eastern musical tones combined with soothing chanting clips. "Just For You" is a more playful song with a kind of electronic funky beat with Arabic vocalization over it. "Africa" is a very calm piece in which African percussion is combined with Western style synth playing. UnS has given us a very eclectic mix of World musical influences and has put them to relatively relaxed electronic beats. If you enjoy World Music or simple Electronica, then sit back and relax to the music of "Vision Of Dreams" as it is an album well worth listening to.

"LIGHT IT UP" by LIBERTY N' JUSTICE (Classic Rock Artist from United Kingdom)

Liberty N' Justice has a new album, and it is called "Light It Up." This album, unlike their previous, is a studio project with the talents of songwriter/lead-singer Justin Murr featuring guest artists on nearly every song, in an album loaded with 80's metal music that have subtle Christian undertones. "Treading On Serpents" is a pulsating heavy rock song with soaring lyrics as Murr implores his listeners to "come walk with me and tread on serpents!" "Best Time You Never Had" is a gritty hard-rock song, with grisly guitar sounds and intensely thumping drums leading the way. For "Greed" we hear how Murr can belt out powerful lyrics and do it well, in this tenacious song about the evils of greed. This album is created for those who love the sound and attitude of metal rock from the 1980's, and for those who can appreciate a Christian message as well. Musically, if you are a fan of Bon Jovi or Def Leppard then this is an album you would be thoroughly pleased with.

"Six Feet Down" by Myrah (Hard Rock Artist from Sweden)

The Swedish hardcore Metal/Punk group Myrah and their recent album, "Six Feet Down," is a collection of hard hitting songs with an overall hefty and dense sound that also contains subtle expressive dynamics. "The Cold" is a fierce number with an intense double-bass drum holding the beat as escalating guitars wail, yet the lyrics remain comprehensible and somewhat reserved. The title track, "Six Feet Down," is an impressive number that begins with a strong and solid vocalist and accompanying piano before climaxing into a thumping rock song with string highlights and bellowing guitars. "Oceans of Time" is a number that contemplates some of life's darker issues in a song that is both unhurried yet aggressive while the instruments give way to the mysterious tonality. This is an album in which true hardcore Metal/Punk music is being played, yet with more introspective and perceptible messages and lyrics. Fans of Iron Maiden and older Metallica would do themselves a favor by listening to Myrah's "Six Feet Down."

"Stone Biscuit" by Jubal Kane (Blues Artist from North Carolina(NC))

The latest release from Jubal Kane is "Stone Biscuit" and is a double album with the first disc being a collection of raw live recordings of the band playing their brand of thick and hearty Blues/Rock, and the second disc contains cover songs as well as a couple of bonus recordings. "Heavy Load" is a high tempo blues song with a great shuffling sound to it, in which we hear how the harmonica can really rock out. "Songs for Salaam/Shalom" by Bamjimba (World Artist from England)

The most recent release by the talented artist Bamjimba is "Songs for Salaam/Shalom." This album is a single release, of sorts, as it contains 3 different versions of the same song, "Allulam Hadash." This release is one for charity and aimed at giving young Jewish and Muslim listeners music they can both enjoy and dance to. "Allulam Hadash (feat. Michal Nahman)" is a more relaxed version of the song with very enlivened drum lines. "Allulam Hadash (slamdogz Remix)" is a more brooding, spacey, and psychedelic version of the song and contains hallucinatory choir like vocals cascading over the stirring percussion. "Allulam Hadash (special Dj Aka Ak Re-mix)" is still spacey, but with a definite danceable feel to it and has more emphasis on the instrumentation as opposed to the vocals. This release is perfect for those who appreciate music that tries to meld the worlds of Jewish and Muslim listeners. And because the proceeds go to a worthy cause, you can feel good as you dance to Bamjimba's "Songs for Salaam/Shalom."

"Silent Words" by Thomas Frykberg (Jazz Artist from Sweden)

"Silent Words" by the highly talented artist Thomas Frykberg is an easy listening and elevating Jazz crossover album. Frykberg takes an open-ended approach on the genre with various melodic melodies and the experimentation of different types of percussion to accompany the traditional drum set. "Doniazade" is a very exotic and quintessential jazz track as it employs an interesting melody on the saxophone combined with other inspired timbres and chimes. This track also shows the artist's ability to adapt to changing and various styles all the while keeping it fresh and innovating. Another song, "Celebration Nr 2," is extremely interesting in that the track is played in a classic Jazz style as the sax deftly plays the melody while the subtle African style percussive beats play with fascinating tonality. Frykberg is superb as he incorporates the genre of smooth Jazz with many colorful flavors and textures and the listener is able to get a musical taste of the international world through this album. "Live at the Martin Theater, Vol. 1" by Lucky Mud (Folk Artist from Florida(FL))

Recorded live from the Martin Theater in Panama City (FL) for public radio station WKGC, Lucky Mud's latest CD is a showcase of original contemporary folk music that's pure down-home Americana. With only acoustic guitar backing, husband and wife duo Mike and Maggie McKinney trade off lead vocal duties over the course of 16 songs that range from Mike's beautifully melancholic "Evangeline," to Maggie's wonderful show-closer, "Ride the Pony." Opening with the infectious "Radio Intro," a short ditty for the host station that's a throw-back to old-time live radio programs, Lucky Mud sets the tone for a set long on heartfelt narratives of simple joys and bittersweet truths. Maggie's "Mississippi Queen," with its bluesy refrain, and Mike's "Born to Honky-Tonk," a Jerry Jeff Walker-ish tune complete with yodels, hint at Lucky Mud's musical reach, but it's the duo's milk-and-honey harmonies – as on the aching ballad, "Silver Spoon" – that wraps their sound up into one neat package. Presumably the 1st of a series, Lucky Mud's "Live at the Martin Theater, Vol. 1" CD is a terrific mix of tuneful and meaningful folk songs as rich as the American musical traditions they reflect.
