"Sverdet (The sword)" by Kjell Braaten (World Artist from NORWAY)

The brilliant musical score (written for the titled play by Vera Henriksen), "Sverdet (The sword)," by extremely talented musical composer, Kjell Braaten, takes the listener on a musical journey of a valiant Viking and his sword during the Viking/Medieval times. This set of tracks features unusual instrumentals (drums, sarangi, didgeridoo, and jewharps) which collectively entwine creating a beautiful CD of superbly mastered World music. The song, "Olavs fest - Olavs party," is bright and lively as one can visualize the dancing and merriment of the spirited party. Another track, "Utrygge tider - Unsafe times," embraces you with eerie and mysterious sounds and pulses. "Slaget ved Stiklestad - The battle of Stiklestad," has driving drum beats with industrial pulses as you feel the emotions of the impending battle. If you're looking to hear music that is magical, well produced and written, then "Sverdet (The sword)," is just the album that will take you on an enchanted voyage with its rich textures and sounds.
